"The North Cambridge Senior Center Murals" were sponsored by the Cambridge Council on Aging and were funded by grants from the Lotus Corporation and the Mass. Arts Lottery. The left wall imagery depicts elders in various activities including a grandmother telling the story of her life to her granddaughter with images from her photo album in the background. The right wall imagery shows elders involved in activism and includes a portrait of the Nobel Prize scientist George Wald, who taught biology for many years at Harvard University and was very active in the struggle to stop the war in Vietnam.
